A GRAVE WITH NO NAME PRESS & SHOWS

'The Underpass' by A Grave With No Name is on the Dazed Digital playlist this month.

You can stream it here. It's part of a forthcoming split single due to appear on a forthcoming split single with Natural Numbers.

There's also another small feature about them where you can download a few more tracks here.

A Grave With No Name then play Club Motherfucker tomorrow at Barden's Boudoir. Special guest Ferry Gouw (who does all our artwork here at Meal Deal) will be joining them on guitar for this show.

They also support These New Puritans next week. Click the flyer to buy tickets. This will sell-out in advance so get them quick.

MKNG FRNDZ

You can pretty much guess what MKNG FRNDZ sound like just by the way they spell their name. Yup, they’re another one in the seemingly endless line of awesome Brooklyn bands who cite Missy Elliott, Trick Daddy and Three 6 Mafia as influences, but you know secretly they grew up up on the first few Gossip albums, liking ‘Decapatcon’ by Le Tigre before the DFA remix and working in some really cool bar where everybody in the city high fives them when they come in for a beer.

Also our good friends over at Club Motherfucker are putting out their debut UK single soon, so all in all this is a serious no brainer for us to be liking them.

Check out their My Space.

PENS

The other day while I was out doing some shots with my buds in a bar, when I bumped into my friend Kev who told me that I had just missed a really cool band called Pens. I was kind of only half listening to him because I was also trying to work out why the cigarette machine kept on spitting my money out, at the same time as being drunk out of my face. Anyhow, about a week later my subconscious kicked in whilst surfing the internet and I went and checked out their My Space.

I think a couple of the girls in Pens used to be in Look Look Dancing Boys and whilst the phallic obsessions from that band remain, the songwriting is like a million times more on point. Pens are pretty much the aural equivalent of doing shots of tequila with someone you've just hooked up with at Club Motherfucker. They don't have any tracks up for download right now, but go see them live or check out the tracks over at their My Space or something.
