HOTLINE

Since his tour of Australia, mad amounts of remixes from everyone from A Place to Bury Strangers to, um, Snow Patrol (get that money kid), our boy Laurence ‘Lillica Libertine’ Matthew Blake has embarked on a new project with singer Ronika called Hotline bringing to mind the sounds of the early-90’s house beamed through his own fucking weird psychedelia. I’ve had the privilege to hear some original material from these guys (actually, so can you if you click the link above to their My Space), and let me just say that Hercules & Love Affair a’int got shit on these guys, but here’s an amazing Hotline remix of their track ‘Blind’ anyway which morphs from Studio 54 to Detroit to theyear 2024 and back again in under 7 minutes. Enjoy.

'TO FIX THE GASH IN YOUR HEAD' (GRIME REAPER REMIX)

Um...why didn't we put this on the 10" or at leat the yellow 12"? It's fucking amazing. Sorry about that. Anyway, here's a remix of A Place to Bury Strangers' single 'To Fix the Gash in Your Head' by London-based 18 year old producer Grime Reaper who is the guy JME goes to when he is sick of being handed third-rate trash made on Fruityloops and fancies riding over some really weird, but incredibly moving chord progressions.

A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS VINYL IN PITCHFORK (THE SAGA CONTINUES)

It's the summer of sequels (hello, 'The Dark Knight', 'The Incredible Hulk', 'Tha Carter III'...and hell, hopefully 'Cuban Linx 2',) so Pitchfork decided to get in on the act and run the second installment of the incredible interesting story involving Meal Deal, a record pressing plant and the volume of A Place to Bury Strangers' music. You can read about it here.

P.S. If you came here by clicking the link in Pitchfork's article, then maybe don't click the link on this page otherwise you'll be doing an Aaliyah and going back n' forth all day.

A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS ON VICE TV

OK. Here's an interview that A Place to Bury Strangers did with Vice TV. They managed to get Jono the bassist's name wrong, but it's a pretty interesting interview anyway; covering the band's influences, Death by Audio and making effects pedals. You know, all the stuff that should be covered in interviews.

DIRTY PROJECTORS @ DEATH BY AUDIO

When he isn't busy being in the loudest band in the World (they used to just be the loudest band in New York, but they got louder) there's nothing more our good buddy Ollie Ackermann from A Place to Bury Strangers likes to do than custom build really fucking cool guitar pedals with names likes 'Total Sonic Annhilation' for bands like Lightning Bolt, Nine Inch Nails and TV on the Radio.

He does this all from his HQ Death By Audio where after hours he invites round a few friends for a couple cans, some hash and a jam session. It's probably pretty cool when those friends are Dirty Projectors. The closest I've ever got to this was when I saw Pink! drinking a latté in the canteen at my day-job.

TAPEDECK/A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS AT ATP PHOTOS.

We went down to ATP last weekend with A Place to Bury Strangers and our friends Simon and Anupa. Although I managed to see Deerhunter, Dirty Projectors, Black Lips, and a bit of Pissed Jeans, alot of the weekend was spent just hanging outside in the absolutely banging weather. Here's some photos that our buddy Anupa took.

These ones of Ollie from A Place to Bury Strangers are stolen from Pitchfork.
